Ampere (Band)

Ampere is a Screamoband from Amherst, Massachusetts / USA. The band is known for its short live performances (10-15 minutes).

History

The four-member band was formed in 2002, with most of the band had been playing in other bands, such as at Orchid.

2006 saw the band with the band Sinaloa first on U.S. and then on a European tour. In the same year the two bands released a split EP together. After several other recordings with other bands and many live appearances followed in 2007 by, among others, a split with the Screamoband Funeral Diner.

The band vegan and advertises heavily for the DIY ideas in the Punk/Hardcore-Punk- and Emo scene.

Style

The band plays hard, chaotic screamo. Here, short quiet, melodic parts switch off with brute quick shout deposits and hard guitars and drums game.

The band is often compared to Orchid, played in the guitarist Will Killingsworth before, especially in relation to their older album All Our Tomorrows End Today. Nevertheless, also play screamo and Emobands such as Native Nod as influences play a role.

In the German label and shipping Green Hell it says about the band:

" A [ ... ] hurricane of anger and despair. Amps are one of the very few U.S. bands playing this style yet. "
