Anatol Roshko

Anatol Roshko ( born July 15, 1923 in Bellevue (Alberta ), Canada ) is a Canadian- burly American physicist and engineer who deals with hydrodynamics.

Roshko studied at the University of Alberta, a bachelor's degree where he graduated in 1945 as a physics engineer. In 1947 he received his master's degree from Caltech, where he received his doctorate in 1953 with Hans Liepmann. He subsequently rose to the Theodor von Karman Professor of Aeronautics (1985 ) from Assistant Professor ( 1955). Since 1994 he is a professor emeritus.

He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is an honorary member of the Indian Academy of Sciences. In 1987 he received the hydrodynamics Prize of the American Physical Society. In 1999 he received the Timoshenko Medal.

1954 to 1990 he was a consultant with McDonnell Douglas and 1984 to 1990 Rockwell International.
