Andal Ampatuan, Jr.

Andal Ampatuan, Jr ( born August 15 in the 1960s ) was mayor of Datu Unsay in Maguindanao and the son of the governor of the province of Maguindanao, Andal Ampatuan, Sr.. It was the end of November 2009 in connection with the massacre in Maguindanao as the prime suspect arrested.

Background is the accusation that he allegedly ordered the bloody attack on the motorcade of the Vice Mayor of Buluan, Ismael Mangudadatu on 23 November 2009. This should be his candidacy thus prevented submitted for the gubernatorial election in May 2010. In the attack, 57 people killed, including 30 journalists came. Ampatuan was also provided as a candidate for the gubernatorial elections in Maguindanao.

Andal Ampatuan denied any guilt. On 8 September 2010, the trial of Ampatuan began. Next to him 195 more people were indicted.

Zaldy Ampatuan Ampatuan 's brother is governor of the Muslim Mindanao autonomous region. He was a member of the ruling party Lakas - Kampi -CMD, belongs, among others, President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo, but was dismissed in consequence of the events of the party chairman and Defense Minister Gilberto Teodoro.
