André Cruz

André Cruz ( born September 20, 1968 in Piracicaba, State of São Paulo, Brazil), full name is André Alves da Cruz, is a former Brazilian footballer.

The central defender joined after a strong season with CR Flamengo in the summer to Europe in 1990 and joined the Belgian first division club Standard Liege. After four years of strong, he moved to Serie A for Napoli and woke there the interest of AC Milan, but could not prevail there. After brief interludes at AC Torino and again Standard Liege he played three years in the jersey of Sporting Lisbon. In the Portuguese capital, he was twice champion and once won the cup. His career ended in Brazil in 2004.

Between 1988 and 1998, denied Cruz 31 caps for the national team. However, it did not prevail dauerhauft against the competition on the center-back position and was not a regular starting players. In 1998 he participated in the World Cup in France, but had no use. He subsequently resigned from the Seleção.
