Andrea Pininfarina

Andrea Pininfarina ( born June 26, 1957 in Turin, Italy as Andrea Farina; † 7 August 2008 Trofarello ) was an Italian entrepreneur and CEO of the trade under his family name coachbuilder Pininfarina.

He was married to Cristina Pellion, with whom he had three children. His father was Sergio Pininfarina. Pininfarina visited the Polytechnic University of Turin and received his engineering degree in 1981 successfully. He then worked for Fruehauf Corporation in the United States. In 1983 he was a project manager for the Cadillac Allanté the family business. In 1987 he was promoted to Deputy Director- General 1988. Since 1994 he was Managing Director and in 2001 he took over responsibility as CEO. Pininfarina was under Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Vice President of the Italian employers' association ( Confindustria ).

Andrea Pininfarina died on 7 August 2008 in an accident during a ride on a Vespa scooter near the company's headquarters in Cambiano.
