Andreas Arén

Andreas Arén ( born November 28, 1985 in Falun ) is a former Swedish ski jumper.

Career

His home club is Holmes IF. A serious knee injury followed by two operations in 2004 threw him far. It was not until the 2006/07 season he won with a 17th place in Kuusamo, the first World Cup points, which was followed by others at the following competition in Lillehammer. In 2008 he became Swedish champion on the normal hill for the first time. In 2009 he was able to repeat this success and also won the gold medal in the large hill. Shortly after he reached the 49th place on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec. On 11 August 2009, he announced to end his ski jumping career. As reasons for his sudden exit he called money and power shortage and loss of motivation.
