Andrei Bashko

Andrej Aljaksandrawitsch Baschko (White Russian Андрэй Аляксандравіч Башко, Russian Андрей Александрович Башко / Andrei Alexandrovich Baschko; * May 23, 1982 in Minsk, Byelorussian SSR) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Schachzjor Salihorsk in the Belarusian Extraliga since 2009.

Career

Andrej Baschko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the young field of HK Junost Minsk, for its first team he was active from 1998 to 2001 in parallel in the East European Hockey League as well as the Belarusian Extraliga. However, the 2000/01 season ended when the defender HK Mogilev in the Extraliga. Then he signed a contract with HK Keramin Minsk, with whom he won the national league and cup double in the 2001/ 02 season. In the following two years Baschko was successful with his team in each of the transnational East European Hockey League.

For the 2005/ 06 season Baschko received a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the Russian Super League. For Metallurg he gave in 26 matches a template. Then he returned to his home, where he was obliged by HK Dinamo Minsk from the Extraliga. With this he was in the 2006/07 season for the second time in his career Belarusian champions. After he had spent the following season in Minsk Metallurg Zhlobin League rivals, he changed for the 2008/ 09 season to Amur Khabarovsk in the newly formed Continental Hockey League. In 32 games Baschko scored a goal and had four assists. For the 2009/10 season he returned to HK Dinamo Minsk, which had also been included in the KHL in 2008. Dinamo he first played in parallel for the KHL team and the extra league farm team HK Schachzjor Salihorsk. Since he in the KHL team but could not permeated permanently, he moved to only six KHL inserts firmly to HK Schachzjor, for which he has since then played almost exclusively. Only in 2011, he was short on loan at League rivals HK Junost Minsk, with whom he won the IIHF Continental Cup.

Internationally

For Baschko Belarus took part in the junior level at the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 and the U20 Junior B World Cup 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002. In the senior level, he took up for Belarus at the World Championships in 2005, 2008 and 2009. In addition, he was in his country's squad for the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin.
