Andrey Abduvaliyev

Andrei Chakimowitsch Abduwalijew (Russian: Андрей Хакимович Абдувалиев, English transcription Andrey Abduvaliyev; . * June 30, 1966 in Leningrad ) is a former hammer thrower. He is Olympic champion and two-time world champion.

Until 1991, he went to the Soviet Union. At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 he won the gold medal with a distance of 82.54 m. As a starter for Tajikistan thereafter it was twice World Champion: 1993 in Stuttgart ( 81.64 m) and 1995 in Gothenburg ( 81.56 m). He also won at the Central Asian Games in 1995 in Tashkent

In 1997 he changed his nationality and is now representing Uzbekistan. He is one of the few athletes who have competed for three states. In 1998 he became Asian champions and won silver at the Asian Games in Bangkok. In 1999 he ended his athletic career.

Abduwalijew put his personal best in 1990 in Sochi with 83.46 m. He is 1.86 meters tall and weighed about 112 kg competition times.
