Andy Kulberg

Andy Kulberg ( born April 30, 1944 in Buffalo, New York State, † January 29, 2002 in Marin County) was an American rock musician ( flute, bass). He is best known as a member of the bands Blues Project and Seatrain.

Andy Kulberg had classical training on the flute, but in 1965 was bassist of the Blues Project by Danny Kalb. Previously, he had already played with Roy Blumenfeld and Al Kooper together that were in the Blues Project also. 1966 saw the band on the piece Flute Thing, in which Kulberg played his real instrument.

After the dissolution of the Blues Project Kulberg and Blumenfeld founded the band Seatrain, which existed until 1974. After that, he played with various artists and bands, including David Grisman and Sylvia McNair.

Andy Kulberg died in 2002 in California.
