Andy Moor (The Ex)

Andy Moor (born 1962 in London) is an English guitarist of the post-punk.

Moor began his musical career as a member of the band Dog Faced Hermans in Edinburgh. In 1990 he moved to the Netherlands, where he was a member of the anarcho- punk group The Ex. He also collaborated with musicians such as Tom Cora, Han Bennink, Wolter Wierbos, Djibril Diabate, John Butcher and Anne James Chaton.

In 1995 he gave a series of improvisational concerts with Terrie Ex In the following year he founded with Tony Buck, Joe Williamson and Leonid Soybelman the group Kletka Red, whose music was influenced by traditional Russian and Greek songs and klezmer music.

From 2000, he worked in the field of electronic music, among other things with Kaffe Matthews, Yannis Kyriakides, Thomas Lehn and Colin Mclean together. At the same time he composed several soundtracks for films and has performed with the Dance Company of Katie Duck. With Kyriakides and Isabelle Vigier 2002, he founded the label Unsounds.

After touring with The Ex through Europe, the U.S. and Ethiopia, he worked from 2003 to 2004 together with the group Thermal ( with John Butcher and Thomas Lehn ). In 2005, he led with the dancer and choreographer Nora Heilmann the piece Skunk, with the theater group The Ex and D' Electrique Anthony Burgess ' A Clockwork Orange. The following year he joined, among others with DJ Rupture on.
