Angela Rippon

Angela Rippon, OBE ( born October 12, 1944 in Plymouth) is an English newsreader and television presenter.

Rippon, which started as a BBC reporter in 1975 was the first regular newsreader the Nine O'Clock News on BBC One. They remained there until the early 1980s and could be seen from there in a variety of entertainment programs and TV magazines. She hosted, among others, Top Gear, Come Dancing, The Big Breakfast and the Auto Show The Antiques Roadshow. She hosted the Euro Vision Song Contest 1977.

In 2004 she rose Queen Elizabeth II an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
