History

Anger village was established in 1936 by merging the cities Angersdorf and Schlettau.

The place name is of Slavic origin Schlettau ( Sletowe ) and goes into its creation in about the year 600 back to a time when the Sorbs settled on the river Saale. The development of the community took place henceforth in close interaction with the city hall and the community Holleben. In 1750 the location Schlettau by a devastating fire almost completely destroyed and had to be rebuilt.
