Anna Vissi

Anna Vissi (Greek Άννα Βίσση, born December 20, 1957 in Larnaca in Cyprus ) is a Greek Cypriot pop singer.

Life

Vissi was raised by her parents Nestor and Sophia Vissi and already started with three years to sing. She founded with her sisters Lia and Nicki the folk band "The Vissi Sisters". In 1973, she won a talent contest Cypriot and moved to Athens ( Greece). After graduating from high school, she signed her first recording contract and took with famous Greek singers like Giorgos Dalaras and Haris Alexiou some music on.

In 1980 she participated in the Euro Vision Song Contest with the title partially auto-stop for Greece. It was there, accompanied by the three-member choir The Epikouri, which was only founded for this purpose. It reached # 13 Two years later she again took part in the song contest, this time for Cyprus with the song Mono i agapi, which brought her to fifth place. In 1983 she married the producer and musician Nikos Karvelas, from whom she divorced in 2005.

When Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, already their third appearance in the competition, she finished 9th overall with the song Everything.
