Anne of Bohemia (1290–1313)

Anna of Bohemia (* October 15, 1290 in Prague, † September 3, 1313 in Carinthia ) was a daughter of the Bohemian King Wenceslas II and his first wife Guta. 1306 she was married to Henry of Carinthia, who was appointed after a campaign of Wenceslas to his deputy. After the murder of Wenceslas 1306 and the takeover of power in Bohemia by King Albrecht's son Rudolf, Anna and Henry fled to Carinthia. After Rudolf's death in 1307 Heinrich - legitimized by his marriage with Anna - elected King of Bohemia.

As the royal couple tried to marry Anna's youngest sister Elizabeth with the Meißner Otto von Bergow, Elizabeth resisted and accepted the offer of the Bohemian nobility to walk in opposition to Henry. She married in 1310 John of Bohemia, who occupied in December of the same year Prague. Anna and Henry went into exile in Carinthia. Anna looked not subsequently their home. She died childless on September 3, 1313 a Carinthian castle.
