Ansambel Roka Žlindre

Roka Žlindra is a company incorporated, 2005 Slovenian folk music group.

History of establishment

The band was founded in 2005 by accordion player Rok Žlindra. The group also owes him his band's name. Completing the group of Nejc Drobnič ( acoustic guitar ), Rok Modic (double bass) and Barbara Ogrinc (vocals ).

In 2008, the group won only the audience prize at the 33rd International Festival of Folk Music in Graška Gora. A year later, the band won the prestigious Slovenian Festival Polkas and Waltzes.

In May 2010, the group took together with the rock band calamari under ensemble Roka Žlindra & calamari on the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo part. However, it is already retired from the semi-finals. Their song Narodnozabavni rock different from the last place (6 points reached ) and could only Michael von der Heide from Switzerland ( 2 points) leave behind.
