Antal Amade de Várkony

Antal Amade de Várkonyi ( first name also kroatisiert: Antun; born November 25, 1760 Bős, today Gabčíkovo; † January 1, 1835 in Marcaltő ) was a Hungarian count and prefect of Zagreb in Croatia.

Life and career

Antal Amade de Várkonyi founded in 1797 the first public theater in Zagreb. It was therefore called Amadeo's theater. The building, which housed Amadeo's theater, today the Croatian Croatian Natural History Museum and since 2000 the Amadeo - theater and music company.
