Antoniów, Opole Voivodeship

Antoniów ( German Antonia ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Antoniów located in the municipality Ozimek ( Malapane ) in the powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Antoniów is located three kilometers north- west of the parish seat Ozimek ( Malapane ) and 18 kilometers east of the county town of Opole and voivodship. The village is located southeast of the Turawa.

Neighboring towns of Antoniów are in the northwest Szczedrzyk ( Sczedrzik ), in the north Dylaki ( Dylaki ) and in the southeast Ozimek ( Malapane ).

History

The village was founded in 1781 on the orders of Frederick the Great as a lumberjack colony for the smelter Malapane. Eponym may have been Maria Antonia of Bavaria. In 1885 the town had 356 inhabitants. 1821 a Catholic school was founded, which was also attended alongside the students from Antonia of students from Schodnia. In 1865 the town had 40 colonists and 13 cottagers.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 189 voters voted to remain in Germany and 105 for Poland .. Antonia remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 937 inhabitants in the village. On April 1, 1939 Antonia was incorporated into Malapane. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and the Silesian Voivodeship was connected and renamed June 28, 1948 in Antoniów .. In 1950 the place for Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Opolski.
