The adjective apical (from the Latin apex "top" ) may refer to:
- Anatomical in anatomy directed to a peak position or direction, see position and directional terms
- In dentistry, a reference to the root tip, see position and directional terms on the teeth
- In botany a reference to the growing tip of the shoot axis and apical meristem, which is also present in the roots except in the shoot
- In coordination chemistry the outstanding position of a ligand
