Apostolic Vicariate of Benghazi

The Apostolic Vicariate of Benghazi ( Latin: apostolicus Vicariatus Berenicensis ) is a located in the Libya Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with its headquarters in Benghazi.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Vicariate of Cyrenaica on February 3, 1927 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Tripolitana. On 22 June 1939, lost part of its territory to the Prefecture Apostolic of Misurata and simultaneously adopted the present name.
