Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria (1835–1840)

Maria Anna Karolina ( Pia ) of Austria, called Annie ( born October 27, 1835 in Vienna, † February 5, 1840 ibid ) was Archduchess of Austria.

Life

Maria Anna Karolina was the fourth child and the only daughter of Archduke Franz Karl of Austria, Grand Duke of Tuscany, son of the last emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and the First Emperor of Austria Franz of Austria and his wife Sophie of Bavaria, daughter of the first king Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria and his second wife Caroline of Baden. It belonged to his early Habsburg Sekundogenitur ( the kids loose after Emperor Ferdinand's resignation in 1848 nachrückte ). It was named after her aunt was Maria Anna Karolina ( Pia ), which had become in March of 1835 the Empress, her full baptismal name was Maria Anna Karolina Johanna Annunziata Josepha Gabriela Theresa Catherine Magaretha Philomena, she was called Annie.

The young princess was suffering from epilepsy and died at the age of 4 years towards noon on February 5, 1840 in a spasm. She was buried in the Imperial Crypt ( Ferdinand crypt, grave No. 11).

Relationship

My older brother was the most Franz Joseph I (1830-1916), nachmalig Emperor of Austria, Princess Elisabeth in Bavaria "Sisi" (1837-1898) married. Her brother Maximilian I (1832-1867), was Emperor of Mexico. The third elder brother, Archduke Karl Ludwig (1833-1896) and her younger brother Archduke Ludwig Viktor (1842-1919) remained without political significance.
