Arirang-Festival

The Arirang Festival is a North Korean mass event, which takes place in the stadium first of May in Pyongyang and is named after the ancient Korean folk song Arirang.

The Arirang Festival showcases the history of North Korea by means of mass and mass dances gymnastics. At the event, over 100,000 people work with. To visit the Arirang Festival, exceptionally visas for nationals of South Korea are granted. Some years, this period was also the only way in which the entry for U.S. tourists has been approved, but these can enter the country since 2009 at any time.

Similar mass events are often held in North Korea, for example, on holidays at the Kim Il-sung Stadium. In Rungnado -May Day Stadium, a new event called the Grand Magic Show was held in the spring of 2011, which was based on the representation of the Arirang Festival.
