Arjuna Award

The Arjuna Award is an Indian National Award, which is awarded athletes for their outstanding performance in the national sport. It is awarded by the Indian government since 1961. The award is a bronze statue of the Mahabharata hero Arjuna with a certificate and a cash prize of 300,000 rupees.

The award was expanded over the years on sports personalities of the pre- Arjuna Award era. The number of price -conscious sports grew as well and there are now also awarded prices for disabled athletes. To be eligible for this price into consideration, the athletes perform well in his sport has not only provided for three years at the international level, but have distinguished themselves by fairness and discipline.
