Arnold Schottländer

Arnold Schott Countries ( born April 2, 1854 in Münster, in Silesia, † September 9, 1909 in Breslau) was a German chess master.

Schottländer counted alongside Fritz Riemann in the 1870s to the preferred play partners of the German world-class player Adolf Anderssen in Breslau chess cafes. It developed in those days, Siegbert Tarrasch and Fritz Riemann one of the strongest players in Germany. Schott countries will (later Edward Lasker ), also known as teacher of chess Eduard Lasker.

Although took Schottländer share of the chess boom in Germany in the 1880s; he was 1879 participants at the first congress of the German Chess Federation in Leipzig, as well as subsequently at the congresses in 1883 in Nuremberg, 1885 in Hamburg and Dresden in 1892, but allowed his weak physical condition him not to continue to dedicate themselves to the tournament.
