Arsatius

About the life of St. Arsacius or Arsatius there are no saved messages. According to legend, he was Bishop of Milan, and possibly a martyr or confessor, said to have lived either 400 or in the 6th century. One other tradition, according to St. Ambrose to have been his teacher and predecessor as bishop.

His relics were transferred from Rome in 766, the abbey Ilmmünster where his worship him grew and today the Arsacius Basilica is dedicated. In 1495 they were transferred to Munich in 1846 but again transferred back to Ilmmünster. His feast day is November 12.
