Arthur Jeffery

Arthur Jeffery ( born October 18, 1892 in Melbourne, Victoria ( Australia); † August 2, 1959 in South Milford, Nova Scotia, Canada ) was an important semitist.

Life

Jeffery was a professor of Semitic languages ​​only in Madras, then in Cairo until his death in New York at Union Theological Seminary, which is connected to Columbia University. He is the author of important works on the history of the Qur'anic text.
