Asanee–Wasan

Asanee - Wasan ( Thai: อัสนี - วสันต์, also Asanee & Wasan Chotikul - อัสนี - วสันต์ โชติ กุล ) is a rock band from Thailand consisting of the brothers Asanee " Pom " and Wasan " Toe" Chotikul. Among the two brothers Asanee is known as the rocker and his guitar solos, while Wasan rather represents the softer side.

History

The Chotikul brothers were born in the province of Loei to study Asanee on 9 April 1955, and Wasan on 25 March 1957. Order, both moved to Bangkok and began their musical career in the 1970s with a band called "Is not ". The style of music was folk-rock. In 1974 she took part in a folk song competition, which she won. Then they brought several albums under the name Is not out: so, among other things Sao ngam ta ( Beautiful Girl ), and Siam Square. Since Asanee would rather make more rock music, he left the band. He initially joined the Oriental Funk Band Rewat Buddhinan to still go to the band Butterfly later. However, both brothers came again in 1986 Together, to be considered " Asanee - Wasan " their first album Bah horb fang bring out. They then signed a contract with GMM Grammy under whose label they brought the next album on the market. Puk- chee roy close contained the first hits of the duo: " Nung With Chid Klai " ( a close friend ) and " Cor Keui Sanya ".

In addition to working with his brother Wasan Asanee Chotikul founded the label More Music under the umbrella of GMM Grammy. So he discovered and produced, for example, sec LOSO.

The 20th anniversary of the duo was committed with a " 20th Anniversary Concert " in the " Impact Arena " Mueang Thong Thani in Bangkok suburb Pak Kret. Originally just a concert was planned, but due to demand they gave two more concerts both of which were also sold. So overall they played on 12 - 14th May 2006 three concerts in succession before a packed house. The arena holds 12,000 spectators here. Other concerts were in Nakhon Ratchasima (Province) and Phuket. Supporting Acts was each Fahrenheit.

In May 2008 Asanee - Wasan competed to a small world tour, where they occurred in Sydney, Los Angeles, London and New York.

In 2007, the last album to date Pug Ron and Asanee - Wasan appeared gave a concert at the Rajamangala National Stadium which was recorded and released as a DVD.

Wasans solo projects

On the albums of the duo Wasan usually sings only one or two songs. A hit of the brothers, Khong Derm, for example, was sung by him. Another hit, Nueng With Chit Klai, was one of his works for the band and has been for Is not Asanee - Wasan arranged and produced new. Even during the time with his brother brought Wasan two albums, Guitar Toe with Is not in 1988, as a solo album Khuen Toe in 1992.
