Life
Ashley Michelle Tisdale was born July 2, 1985 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Her parents are Lis Tisdale, born Morris and Mike Tisdale. She grew up in Ocean Township and has a two year older sister named Jennifer Tisdale. Her maternal grandfather is Arnold Morris, the developer of Ginsu Knives. Her mother is Jewish and Tisdale considers himself as Jewish. She was discovered in a shopping mall by Bill Perlman, her current manager, when she was three. She appeared in nearly 100 commercials. At the age of eight, she played a supporting role in the Broadway musical Les Misérables and toured around the world with the musical Annie. She played among others in the stage productions Gypsy: A Musical Fable and The Sound of Music at the Jewish Community Center of Monmouth County. Only through the Suite Life of Zack & Cody series (2005-2008) and the film series High School Musical (2006-2008) she managed the breakthrough.
