Ashmont (MBTA-Station)
Ashmont is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Dorchester, Massachusetts in the United States. It is the southern terminus of the same branch of the U -Bahn line Red Line and at the same time the northern terminus of the Ashmont - Mattapan High Speed Line.
History
The current station was opened on September 1, 1928 for the Red Line, on August 26, 1929 then followed the Ashmont - Mattapan Following the High Speed Line. 1872 however, there was a station of the same name Old Colony Railroad.
In the years 2005-2011 the building for more than 35 million U.S. dollars has been completely rebuilt.

Metro Station has a total of three tracks that are accessible with a private side platform.

The metro station is located at address 1900 Dorchester Avenue at 200 Ashmont Street and is completely accessible since its renovation in 2011.

At the station there is a connection to seven bus lines of the MBTA as well as another of the Brockton Area Transit Authority ( BAT).
