Assan Takhtakhunov

Assan Tachtachunow ( born September 25, 1986 in Alma- Ata ) is a Kazakhstani ski jumper.

Tachtachunow jumped for the first time on 25 July 2003 as part of the Continental Cup (COC ) in Salt Lake City. Already in his first competition he won his first COC points, as he jumped to 26th place. On November 29, 2003, he jumped for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup. In jumping on the large hill in Kuusamo, he reached No. 49 on January 10, 2004 he was jumping in Lahti, Finland for the first time win 27 World Cup points with space. At the Junior World Championship 2004 in Stryn reached Tachtachunow, which again took the meantime the Continental, on the normal hill 26th place. On March 14, 2004, he was able to win World Cup points with a 29th place in Oslo again. However, it was his date last placement within the points. At the end of the World Cup season 2003/ 04 he was on the 70th place in the overall standings. In the following years he could neither in the Continental Cup on the World Cup aiming significant results and has been deleted from the A-National squad, but remained in the Continental Cup squad. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf, he reached with the Kazakh team together with Ivan Karaulov, Nikolai Karpenko and Radik Schaparow the 11th place on the normal and large hill. At the normal hill, the team was able to let even the Norwegians, who were among the favorites behind after the Norwegians Sigurd Pettersen who fell in the first round.

For the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo, Japan, the team could jump in 11th place, having previously finished sixth in the World Cup competition in Willingen. In the Ski Flying World Championships 2008 in Oberstdorf, however, he only reached the 13th place with the team.

Since the ski flying World Cup Tachtachunow was able to achieve any more success and jumped mostly in the Continental only to the lower ranks. In World Cup competition, for which he was nominated, he left already in the qualification. Also in the summer of 2010, he remained in the Continental again without success point. The best result was a 37th place in his home Almaty.
