Porin Ässät is a Finnish professional ice hockey club based in Pori, which plays in the Liiga and discharges its home games in the porin Jäähalli. Ässät was founded in June 1967 and was born from the fusion of Rose Lewin Urheilijat -38 (RU -38), which was founded in 1938 by Rosenlew factory club, and porin Karhut. Karhut was created in 1960 from the merger of Hockey departments of Pori Palloilijat and porin Kärpät.
In addition to the hockey team operating Ässät also a football team, which was acquired by RU -38, 1968-1969 in the top division of Finland was active and was disbanded in 1981.
