Association of Saône and Madon Country communes

The Communauté de communes du Pays de Saône et Madon is a municipal merger of 25 municipalities to the west and south-west of Epinal in the Vosges department in Lorraine.

The Local Government Association has 5,382 inhabitants (1 January 2007) to 252.83 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 21 inhabitants / km ². Seat of the association is the small town of Darney, president Christophe André, who also serves as mayor of Sans - Vallois.

The territory of the Association extends from the catchment area of ​​Madon in the northeast of the Voge and the Monts Faucilles as part of the watershed of the North Sea - Mediterranean to the upper Saône river and its tributaries in the southwest. For municipal association includes all 21 municipalities of the canton of Darney, three municipalities in the canton Dompaire and a municipality in the canton of Bains- les- Bains.

The community association was founded on 31 December 1992 in order to concentrate the material resources of some very small communities and to coordinate economic development.

To the field of the Association of Local Authorities include regional planning, the cross-community economic development and the implementation of all measures to maintain public services. The Communauté de communes du Pays de Saône et Madon has also set a goal to work closely in the field of education, water management, the system of trails and waste management.
