The Aswan airport (English Aswan International Airport ) is an airport of Aswan in Egypt.
Location and Directions
The airport is very close to the Aswan Dam and 16 km southwest of Aswan.
Navigation aids
The Tower ( TWR ) sends and receives on the frequency: 118.3 MHz. The airport has several navigation aids. The start and runway 17/35 has an instrument landing system (ILS ). The omnidirectional radio range (VOR) transmits on frequency: 112.3 MHz with code ASN. A distance measuring equipment (DME ) is available.

Incidents
On 20 March 1969, Ilyushin Il- 18D, from Saudi Arabia had an accident coming, at the landing at Aswan. Here, 100 people were killed, only five passengers survived. Unfortunately time the visibility was only about two to three kilometers.
