August von Hayek

August von Hayek ( born December 14, 1871 in Vienna, † June 11, 1928 ) was an Austrian physician and botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Hayek ".

He was a son of Gustav von Hayek. From 1926 he was professor at the University of Vienna. Important are his achievements in the field of plant geography of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (especially in Styria) and the Balkans.

August von Hayek was buried on the fire hall Simmering cemetery. He is the father of the economist Friedrich August von Hayek.
