Aurela Gaçe

Aurela Gaçe ( born October 16, 1974 in Llakatund in Vlora, Albania) is an Albanian singer who lives in New York City. In addition to modern music, she often sings labische typical folk music of their native region. It describes itself as a versatile singer who presents of polyphonic music to jazz and soul.

Biography

Aurela grew up in a village about ten kilometers north of Vlora in southern Albania. Even as a small child she started singing and participated in the sequence continuously on demonstrations and competitions. According to his own statements it was already obsessed with singing.

In 1993, Aurela took with the song Pegaso for the first time on Festivali i Këngës part - Albania's biggest song festival, conducted by state television TVSH. A short time later, she won the Festivali i Pranverës 1994. Breakthrough they achieved with the song Nata on Festivali i Këngës in 1995, which was won by Ardit Gjebrea. Having participated in each subsequent year and won more second and third places she had than any other participant in the 90s, she could win the Festivali i Këngës in 1999 with the song S'jam tribu and 2001 with the song Ndjej.

In 2000, Aurela closed his acting class from the Academy of Arts in Tirana. In 2001 she emigrated to the United States where she has mainly appeared before the Albanian exile community. Aurela still published albums, also has appearances in Albania where she participated in singing competitions such as Kenga Magjike, which they won with the song Hape Veten 2007. In the summer of 2010, she ended up with the dance-pop single Origjinale ( a co-production with Dr. Flori and Marseli ) another hit.

In December 2010, she took after almost ten years of absence, again part of the Festivali i Këngës. She had between only two guest appearances at the festival. With the song Kenga ime she won for the third time the victory and qualified for the Euro as Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Dusseldorf. The title Feel The Passion was apart of an Albanian chorus presented in English. On 10 May 2011 she left in Dusseldorf in the first ESC semi-final.
