Austin Daye
Darren Daye Austin ( born June 5, 1988 in Irvine, California ) is an American basketball player. He currently plays for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA.
Life
Austin Daye was born in 1988 as son of former NBA pros Darren Daye. He attended Woodbridge High School in his hometown of Irvine. There he played for the basketball team at school and achieved for this in his last season 30.9 points per game. After he finished high school he attended Gonzaga University and was there also the basketball team at. In Dress the Bulldogs Daye put down a fantastic debut and netted 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Montana Grizzlies. He also met during the season 29 free throws in a row and came to a total of 54 blocks. But in NCCA Tournament, he retired with the Bulldogs in the first round against the Davidson Wildcats from. The following season also introduced already represents his last for the Bulldogs and this ended the NCCA tournament in the third round in which the Bulldogs lost against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
NBA career
Detroit Pistons (2009-2013)
Daye was drafted in the NBA Draft 2009, 15 out of the Detroit Pistons, and signed on 7 August 2009 his contract with the Pistons. In his first season with the Pistons, he played 69 games and started it four times. Overall, he reached it a points average of 5.1 points per game. But he came as well in the next two seasons, not on the role of a reserve addition and changed in the meantime due to the lockout during the 2011/12 season to Russia. There he played for the BK Khimki and returned after the expiry of his two-month contract back to the Pistons when he could not establish himself as a regular player also in Khimki.
Memphis Grizzlies (2013 )
On January 30, 2013 Daye was transferred together with teammate Tayshaun Prince to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies Daye came as a reserve player from the bench. However, for the 2013/2014 season, he received no further contract in Memphis.
Toronto Raptors (since 2013)
End of July 2013 gave the Toronto Raptors, the obligation of Austin Daye known. He received a contract until the summer of 2015, the Canadian team.
