The Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet, also known under the name Jacarepaguá was a motorsport race in Brazil near Rio de Janeiro, which was named after the racing driver Nelson Piquet.

History

The line was opened in 1978. As the race course was built on marshland, the course was almost completely flat. He had a length of 5.031 km ( 3.126 miles ).

On this track were in 1978 and held in the years 1981 to 1989 under the Formula 1 race of the Grand Prix of Brazil.

From 1995 to 2004 nine times the Grand Prix of Rio de Janeiro was held as part of the motorcycle world championship in Jacarepaguá.
