Autolux

Autolux is an American band from Los Angeles, consisting of Eugene Goreshter (vocals, bass), Greg Edwards ( guitar, vocals) and Carla Azar (drums, vocals), which is stylistically rooted in many varieties of rock music.

History

The band compilation resulted from already active musicians: Azars Ednaswap band had toured with Edwards band Failure, delivered Goreshter along with Azar the music for Dario Fos Accidental Death of an Anarchist play. After initial jamming Autolux first played a year in clubs before with demonstration published in 2001, their first self-produced EP.

The recordings came to T -Bone Burnett, who then looked at one of her live shows. Overwhelmed, he launched his own record label (along with the Coen brothers ) and was founded in 2002 with the band for the recording of their first album Future Perfect in the studio. Since Burnett necessarily convey the impressive live feel with the album and the band even wanted to release her debut as perfectly as possible, the recordings were changed for a year, optimized and revised again until they were ready for sale in early 2004. Nevertheless, it did not make the label still half a year to find a suitable release date, and should eventually appear as the album on September 21, made ​​this a misprint impossible. Only a month later, on 26 October 2004, finally released their final album. From the critically praised, it also achieved good sales and also made ​​the band for other artists a name.

A few months after the release Autolux was hired as the opening act for The Secret Machines, Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, also they attended a performance by the prestigious Coachella festival.

In 2007, she took on the basis of a simple drum beats on a song for UNKLE. The song was re-arranged and eventually appeared as " Persons & Machinery " on the album appeared in 2007.
