Avioimpex

Avioimpex was a Macedonian airline based in Skopje and based on the Skopje airport.

History

The company was founded in 1992 under the name Interimpex - Avioimpex and was the air transport division of a commercial enterprise. As of 1999, only the name Avioimpex was used for the entire company. The Macedonian Aviation Authority CAA withdrew from the company in 2002, the pilot's license due to financial problems, prompting the flight has ceased operations.

Incidents

  • On November 20, 1993, a Yakovlev Yak - 42, the company crashed near the airport Ohrid. The plane was on its way from Geneva to Skopje, as they had been diverted due to bad weather conditions and soon after for unknown reasons collided with a mountain. Of 116 people on board, only one survived.
