Axel Bellinghausen ( born May 17, 1983 in Siegburg ) is a German football player.

Career

With five years Bellinghausen joined the football club TuS 05 Oberpleis. After he was changed in the youth of Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1993, he came in 1998 to Fortuna Dusseldorf, where he made ​​the jump to the first team and remained until 2005. Then Bellinghausen moved to Bundesliga side 1.FC Kaiserslautern. After the descent of Kaiserslautern in 2006 to the 2nd Bundesliga, he remained loyal to the club and was appointed to the second half of the 2007/08 season to the team captain.

Bellinghausen left the 1st FC Kaiserslautern at the end of the 2008/09 season and joined free transfer to league rivals FC Augsburg. After the rise of Augsburg, he scored his first Bundesliga ( Round 10 ) 21 October 2011 in a 1-1 draw at home to Werder Bremen.

Bellingshausen did not renew his June 30, 2012 expiring contract at FC Augsburg and Fortuna Dusseldorf joined. He signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2015.
