Baie-D'Urfé

Baie- d'Urfe is a city in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located on the Île de Montréal west of Montreal. The city has an area of ​​6.03 km ² and has a population 3850 ( 2011).

Geography

Baie- d'Urfe lies in the west of the Île de Montréal in the region of West Iceland, on the north shore of Lac Saint- Louis. The municipality is bordered to the west by Sainte -Anne- de -Bellevue and east to Beaconsfield. History

The Catholic priest François- Saturnin Lascaris d' Urfé from Sulpizianerorden founded in 1685 on a bay of Lac Saint -Louis, a small settlement, which was named a few years later after him. 1855 opened the Grand Trunk Railway, a railway line and the village received a railway station.
