Bait ul-Huda (Usingen)

The Bait ul- Huda ( Urdu بیت الہدی, DMG Bait Al - Huda, House of guidance ') is a mosque in Usingen.

History

The southwest on 7 September 2004 on the edge of an industrial area, inaugurated the city center mosque was built by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, and has a dome and a 14 m high minaret. The mosque community are approx. 160 members.

Arson attack

Just a few months after the opening of the mosque came after a burglary on 22 December 2004 in the headlines. In this burglary attempt was made to put the mosque on fire, which caused losses amounting to 50,000 euros. The Usinger citizens showed great solidarity. City officials visited the mosque and expressed their support. With spontaneously collected donations from citizens Usinger community members sponsored a horse chestnut, which is now up with including imputed bank at the entrance of the property.

The cause of arson could not be determined; the case was closed after one year.

Building

In the mosque there are separate prayer rooms for men and women on the upper floor in the basement. Upstairs is also the prayer niche for the prayer leader, the Imam. The prayer rooms - each approximately 77 m² in size - are used not only for religious but also for private purposes: besides religious information for events, meditations, student tutoring, etc. The ornaments in the corresponding windows are used for emphasis and embellishment.

In addition, the mosque contains next to the toilets with washing facilities for the religious rite ( Wudu ') also an office and a small kitchen, which is used primarily for guests entertainment. The minaret is an architectural reference to the mosque and symbolizes steadfastness and firmness in faith, but has no practical function for the call to prayer.
