Balder home is a commune in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the canton in the Arrondissement Illzach Mulhouse and one in 2595 (as of 1 January 2011) inhabitants. Balder Home is a member of the Mulhouse Alsace AgglomÃ.

Geography

Balder Home is located approximately seven kilometers northeast of Mulhouse and is traversed in south-north direction from Quatelbach, which here runs parallel to the River Ill.

Two kilometers west of the town center flows the River Ill, on the other hand is Witten home. Northwest borders Baldersheim to Ruelisheim, north of Battenheim, east and south of Ottmar home to Sausheim.

East of Balder home is the state-owned Forêt de la Hardt, a Natura 2000 site under the Birds Directive. An old section of the Rhine - Rhône canal leads to the municipality through the forest.

History

Balder home was first mentioned at the beginning of the 9th century as Balteresheim. The first church was built in 1273. The place was the property of the monasteries on Mount Sainte-Odile and in Ebersmünster. Since 1303 he belonged to the Habsburgs, and came in 1648 with the Peace of Westphalia to France. The present church dates from 1780.

During the Second World War Balder home was destroyed about 80%.

Infrastructure

Home Balder is developed by the department road D 201. In the immediate vicinity of the European route is 25 ( E 25 ), shown here with the Autoroute A35 Lauterbourg -Strasbourg- Colmar- Basel, called L' Alsacienne collapses.

Attractions

The parish church of Saint- Pierre et Saint -Paul from the last quarter of the 18th century is equipped with an organ from 1873.
