Michelbach-le-Haut
Michel -le -Haut ( German: Ober- Michel Bach) is a commune with 557 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Mulhouse, on the Canton Huningue and community association Porte du Sundgau.
Geography
The municipality Michel -le -Haut is located in the southeast of the Sundgau, about twelve kilometers west of the Basel city center.
Neighboring communities of Michel -le -Bas are Ranspach -le- Bas in the north, Attenschwiller in the east, Wentzwiller the southeast, Folgensbourg in the south, Muespach -le-Haut in the southwest and Knœringue in the West.
From 1915 to the community had a common station with Attenschwiller on the railway line Waldighoffen -Saint -Louis- la- Chaussee. This comprised two sidings and a loading track. The passenger was set in 1955 and shut down the track in 1960.
