Balge

Bellows is a municipality in the district of Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony. The municipality belongs to the Samtgemeinde Marklohe and has seven districts.

Geography

Bellows is located directly at the Weser. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Marklohe, which has its headquarters in the town of Marklohe.

Bellows, Blenhorst, Bötenberg, Buchholz, Buchenhorst, Dolldorf, Holzbalge, Mehlbergen, Möhle Halen Beck and Sebbenhausen.

History

On March 1, 1974, the municipalities bellows, Blenhorst, Bötenberg, Buchenhorst, Holzbalge, Mehlbergen and Sebbenhausen were merged to form a new congregation. This was given the name Blenhorst. On January 23, 1976 its name was officially changed to bellows.

In the current municipal election period Barbara King -Meyer (SPD ) acts as honorary mayor of the community.

Culture and sights

Sports

In the community bellows there is a sports club (SV Sebbenhausen / bellows ), several shooting clubs and two marching bands in the various districts.

Infrastructure

In bladders there are five local fire departments volunteer firefighters. In recent years, several local fire departments were merged and closed the offices in the districts and Holzbalge Mehlbergen. A further reduction of the local fire departments is sought by the administration of the velvet municipality Marklohe.

Education

Because forecast a sharp fall in pupil numbers ( sometimes only five students per year), the closure of the primary school location has been decided in bladders in early 2008.
