Warping is a municipality of the velvet municipality county Hoya in Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony.

Geography

The community is nestled in a marked Warpe Anhöhungen and lowering of 60-25 meters above sea level landscape, and spring and flow through a number of rivers, the area, including for example the Bückener mill creek. In Impounds to small and larger ponds were these creeks basis for several, now disused, dilapidated and partly restored water mills.

History

From 1258 to 1555 had the knight dynasty of Warpe here its headquarters. The Count of Hoya owned farms in Warpe. From 1665 to 1963 there was a school in Warpe.

Incorporations

Since the municipal reform, which came into force on 1 March 1974 Warpe is an independent municipality with the districts ( former municipalities ) Helzendorf, North wood and Windhorst and part of the county Samtgemeinde Hoya.
