Balochistan National Party

The Balochistan National Party ( Mengal ) or Baluchi National Party ( Urdu بلوچستان نيشنل پارٹی, abbreviation BNP ) is a Baloch party in Pakistan.

The National Party was founded in 1996 by Ataullah Mengal and is led by Akhtar Mengal and him. It supports the independence of Balochistan, most of which is located in Pakistan. For the struggle for greater autonomy and provincial rights, it uses exclusively peaceful and democratic means.

It is next to the National Party one of the two main parties, campaigning for the self-determination of Balochistan, and is also represented in the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan; since the parliamentary elections of 2008, the Balochistan National Party with seven deputies the fourth largest party in the Provincial Assembly. She is also represented by a deputy in the National Assembly and three in the Senate.

In the Baloch coalition government led by the Pakistan People's Party, the Balochistan National Party is a coalition partner, together with the Awami National Party.
