Ban Phaeo District

Amphoe Ban Phaeo ( Thai: อำเภอ บ้านแพ้ว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northern part of the province of Samut Sakhon. The Samut Sakhon province is located in central Thailand on the northern shore of the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Sam Phran of Nakhon Pathom, the Amphoe Mueang Samut Sakhon Krathum Baen and the province of Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Amphoe Mueang Samut Songkhram Province, and Amphoe Damnoen Saduak and Bang Phae of Ratchaburi Province.

History

In the past, the area now Ban Phaeo was covered by dense forest. Hunters who hunted wild animals here, strayed often, so that you can use certain meeting places of Phaeo Flags ( lit. " scarecrows " ) was built. As here the first village was founded, it called the inhabitants " Ban Phaeo ". It was administered by the Amphoe Sam Phran. When the village had become large enough, it became the Tambon. 1925 separated the government from the Tambon Rong Khe and Sam Lak Ban Bo and summarized them with Tambon Ban Phaeo together to Amphoe Ban Phaeo. The administration has the Samut Sakhon province transferred.

Management

The district Ban Phaeo is divided into 12 subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 97 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Phaeo ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านแพ้ว ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Phaeo and Lak Sam,
  • Kaset Phatthana ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เกษตร พัฒนา ) consists of the whole tambon Kaset Tambon Khlong Phatthana well as parts of Tan,
  • Lak Ha ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หลัก ห้า ) consists of parts of tambon Yokkrabat, Rong Khe, Nong Song Hong and the whole tambon Nong Bua.

There are seven to " Tambon administrative organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
