Mueang Samut Sakhon District

Amphoe Mueang Samut Sakhon ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง สมุทรสาคร ) is a district ( Amphoe ) of Samut Sakhon Province in central Thailand. The capital of the district of Samut Sakhon is also called.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Samut Songkhram Samut Songkhram province, the Amphoe Ban Phaeo and Krathum Baen Samut Sakhon Province Province and the following Khet Bangkok: Bang Khun Thian and Bang Bon.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Samut Sakhon is divided into 18 communes ( tambon), which further into 115 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Samut Sakhon itself ( Thai: เทศบาล นคร สมุทรสาคร ) has a big-city status ( thesaban Nakhon ) and consists of parts of the tambon Tha Maha Chai and Chalom and the whole tambon Krok Krak.

There are four small-town status ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Bang Pla ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง ปลา ) consists of parts of Tambon Ban Ko,
  • Tha Chin ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า จีน ) consists of parts of the tambon Tha Chin,
  • Na Di ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นาดี ) consists of parts of the tambon Na Di,
  • Bang Ya Phraek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางหญ้าแพรก ) consists of parts of the tambon Bang Ya Phraek.

There are also twelve Tambon administrative organizations (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
