Bang Khun Thien Museum

The Bang Khun Thian Museum (also Bang Khun Thien ) is a facility in the Thai capital Bangkok and is the regional museum for the district of Bang Khun Thian on the west side of the Chao Phraya.

The Bang Khun Thian Museum provides a good overview of the history and culture of the population during the past centuries. It is under the supervision of the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority.

The area of Bang Khun Thian has a long tradition in agriculture and trade, especially of rice. The Mon, who originally came in the 16th century from the Irrawaddy Valley of Burma to Siam, and since about 1810 reinforced immigrant Chinese were devoted to agriculture, the cultivation of fruit and the raising of poultry and the construction of many shrimp farms. The museum preserves this economic and ecological heritage.
