Bang Len District

Amphoe Bang Len ( Thai: อำเภอ บางเลน ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northeastern part of the province of Nakhon Pathom. The Nakhon Pathom province is located in the middle of Central Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring Amphoe are clockwise from the North: Amphoe Song Phi Nong province of Suphanburi, Amphoe Lat Bua Luang Ayutthaya Province, Amphoe Sai Noi, Nonthaburi Province and Amphoe Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Chai Si, Don Tum and Kamphaeng Saen of Nakhon Pathom Province.

The main Wasseressource of the county is the Tha Chin River, which is called in the province " Maenam Nakhon Chai Si ".

History

The county was established in 1896 as the Bang Phai Nat ( บางไผ่ นา รถ ). The administration building was in Ban Bang Phai Nat in Tambon Bang Sai Pa on the eastern bank of the Maenam Nakhon Chai Si. Later, the district average by Tambon Bang Pla was relocated on the west bank of the Tha Chin River, at the same time the name was changed in Bang Pla. 1936, the district received its present name in Bang Len. The administration building was laid in 1978 for Phon Damri Road in Tambon Bang Len.

Management

Amphoe Bang Len is divided into 15 subdistricts (tambon ), which in turn in 180 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are four small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Bang Len ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางเลน ) consists of parts of Tambon Bang Len and Bang Sai Pa.
  • Bang Luang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง หลวง ) consists of parts of the Tambon Bang Luang.
  • Rank Krathum ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ราง กระทุ่ม ) consists of parts of the tambon Bang Phasi.
  • Lam Phaya ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลำ พญา ) consists of parts of the tambon Lam Phaya.

While there are officially 15 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO ), but only five take over the administrative duties of the other regions.
